A high-conversion landing experience that turns "I should sell my old phone" into an instant cash offer.
The Fone Plug is a Toronto-based phone-buyback service that pays cash for used iPhones, Samsung, Pixel, iPads, and MacBooks, with free pickup and instant e-Transfer payment. They needed a landing site that did one job exceptionally well: convince a skeptical seller, in seconds, that they'll get a fair offer with zero hassle. The brief was a fast, mobile-first, trust-heavy site with a bold black-and-gold identity, a frictionless path to a quote, and SEO/social sharing built in from day one.
The used-phone market is full of lowball offers and shady middlemen, so visitor trust is the single biggest barrier to conversion. Most sellers also arrive on mobile, mid-decluttering, with low patience. The site had to (1) establish instant credibility, (2) make the value proposition unmistakable above the fold, (3) drive every visitor toward a single quote action without overwhelming them, and (4) feel premium and fast on a phone, not just on desktop.
We designed and built a conversion-focused single-page experience anchored by a split hero, value proposition and instant-quote CTA on the left, tactile "Sell" and "Contact" action cards on the right. A black-and-gold visual system signals premium service, while trust signals (2,000+ Canadians served, 4.9/5 from 800+ reviews, free pickup, instant e-Transfer) are woven throughout. A persistent WhatsApp bubble and a real "talk to a human" promise lower the trust barrier. The build is mobile-first with a dedicated tasteful animation pass (scroll-in reveals, gentle motion, tap feedback) that respects reduced-motion and keeps desktop pixel-stable. We added full Open Graph / Twitter card metadata and JSON-LD structured data so shared links and search results look polished everywhere.
