Digital Media & Client Services Co-op (Unpaid)

Creative & Client Services · Toronto / Remote — arrangement to be confirmed · Student Co-op — Unpaid

Build practical creative and client-service skills with EightLabs. Learn to use professional video-editing and graphic-design tools, support real client projects, and help update and manage client websites through a supervised, unpaid student co-op placement.

EightLabs is seeking curious, motivated co-op students who want hands-on experience in digital media, website management, and client services. You do not need to arrive as an expert: this placement is designed to help you learn through guided practice, feedback, and supervised project work.

You will be taught how to use professional video-editing and graphic-design tools, prepare content for digital channels, communicate professionally with clients, and help keep client websites accurate and up to date. As your skills develop, you may take on more responsibility with support and review from the team.

Compensation: this is an unpaid educational co-op placement, not a paid employment opportunity. Applicants must be enrolled in a school-approved co-op or work-integrated learning program. Any placement is subject to school approval and applicable employment requirements; school approval alone does not determine whether an unpaid placement is lawful. Learning objectives, supervision, hours, location, and placement dates will be agreed with the student and school before the placement begins. There is no guarantee of a paid position afterward.

Learn professional video-editing workflows, including organising footage, making cuts, adding captions and audio, and exporting content for different platforms.

Learn graphic-design fundamentals and professional tools for layouts, typography, branding, social graphics, and web assets.

Assist with real client projects under supervision, from understanding a brief to preparing drafts, receiving feedback, and making revisions.

Learn how to manage client relationships: write clear updates, prepare for meetings, record feedback, track requests, and follow up professionally.

Check website content, links, forms, and mobile layouts; report issues and help make reviewed improvements.
